PRONTO PLATE PRINTMAKING
Physically working with materials to make art is a wonderful break from the stresses of day-to-day life. After learning about the (albeit simple) chemistry involved in paper lithography, I worked on honing my drawing skills to draw with sharpie on special pronto plate paper and then ink the plate to run it through the press. At home, I do not have a press, so I work on hand burnishing the prints to reveal their reversed images, like the top four images here. The video and the lower four images were processed with an etching press at a proper printmaking studio. This process is hands on, exploratory, and likely the most fun I have is making prints!
